Wrestling 101

Hi! I am Ty's friend Tre. Ty doesn't have any brothers,
so I have come to give him a lesson in wrestling.
I'm so tough I even wore my

wrestling shirt for this special occasion.

I make Ty a little nervous ...

Aagghhh! Ty is catching onto wrestling.

Go Ty Go!

I think this has been a successful lesson.
Let's practice again next week.

Our Little Outing

Ty is one of my best friends. The older he's getting (not that he is that old, he's only 3) the more fun he's becoming.

It may not be officially summer yet, but it sure feels like it at 90 degrees. I took Ty to the mall today to buy him summer clothes since he's hit a growth spurt from last year. Since boys don't like shopping as much as girls, and Ty had been such a good sport, I let him choose our venue for lunch. We ended up at Chick-Fil-A because Ty insisted on chicken nuggets. The mall has a new merry-go-round, so I asked Ty if he wanted to go for a ride. Bet you can't guess how he answered! He got so excited when I fastened his seat belt. It was so cute!

I had to make sure it was a quick trip to the mall because we couldn't be late for the school bus, which arrives at 12:00 noon everyday to take him to preschool! True to myself, we stayed at the mall until the very last minute and pulled into our driveway at 11:55.

I love my mornings with my buddy Ty.

Not Fair

Ty attends preschool 5 days a week and acquires
a new phrase from time to time!

Mom: "Come on Ty, come and get dressed."
Ty: "No, Mom!"
Mom: "Come and get your shirt on."
Ty: "Don't want that shirt, Mom!"
Mom: "Ty!"
Ty: "Not fair, Mom!"

This is Ty when mom gets him dressed!

And....

This is Ty when he gets himself dressed!

Oh, how I love him so much!

Happy Birthday Dad

My dad is 62 years old today! This year is a wonderful year for him, because all of that hard work has paid off! This is the year he gets to retire, officially!

My dad was born in Los Angeles, California on March 24, 1946. His proud parents were Dr. Denny Hicksford Mansell Jr. and Merel Irene Lundgren. He has 5 siblings living and 2 deceased. He graduated from Quincy High School in 1963. He married my mom, Jenifer Lyn Fordyce, on August 28, 1964. Together they have 7 beautiful children and 19 grandchildren. My dad loves to fly. In fact, he is a certified flight instructor. My dad can build houses, he can fix cars, he loves to go fishing (especially with my Uncle Walt), and he has his Master's Degree in Aviation Administration. He loves to eat at the Outback Steakhouse with my mom, he never gets tired of his Oldies music (I am even hooked), he dreams of owning his very own airplane, and he loves to hold and play with the grand babies!

The one thing I love most about my dad is his unselfishness. He has worked so hard through the years providing for his children just so we could have a wonderful life. My life is truly wonderful and I thank him.

The ChuckBox

Ty, Sammie, Quincy & Susie

Matt and I were introduced to a new (hole in the wall) hamburger joint sometime ago called "The ChuckBox." Gary and Ann decided to come visit us for the day, so I told them that we needed to go eat at the ChuckBox!

See for yourself! http://www.thechuckbox.com/

Maybe the next time you come to Arizona, you'll want to eat there too!

Easter Eve

What a fabulous day Saturday was, the day before Easter! Matt and I took the kids to the park for an Easter egg hunt! It was such a beautiful day! The weather was perfect, the kids were happy; for what more could we have asked?

Spring break

Spring break wouldn't be Spring break without a pool according to cousin Sammie! It doesn't get any better than this...except the pool could be alittle bit warmer for my blood!

Mini Clip Addiction

Who needs a Wii when you have this: http://www.miniclip.com/games/off-the-rails/en/

Whenever there's a dull moment at the Baker house (which I couldn't even imagine), I can always count on Susie playing this game! Cousin Quincy has been staying with us over spring break and now she's addicted! Watch yourself! You might become too!

Indulge Yourself

In the mood for something sweet and a quick fix? Try this!

Hot fudge Oreo!

Here's the recipe for the hot fudge.

1 cup butter
1/3 c. cocoa
3 c. sugar
1 can evaporated milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Combine all ingredients except for vanilla. Boil 5 min. then add the vanilla. Keep cold.
So, for this fabulous hot fudge oreo desert you will need 1 tbsp. of hot fudge (if hot fudge is cold, heat in microwave for 30 sec.). Break up 3 oreo cookies in a bowl and add them to the hot fudge!
Eat up! (But beware, you may never fit in your skinny jeans again.)
